The IT service management unit of the world’s biggest online retailer Amazon hints that it considers a digital asset adoption drive among its customers all around the world.
As per the job posting published by the Amazon Web Service (AWS) this Saturday from the New York office, it seeks a Financial Services Specialist who has experience in blockchain and distributed ledger technology and “understands the overall cryptocurrency market and digital asset ecosystem.” The company added that the position would work with financial institutions, regulators, and capital market operators to look into the ways the company could benefit from crypto adoption.
The retail giant is looking for someone who can encourage the senior positions at major international financial institutions to transform and enhance their way of transacting digital assets, including cryptocurrencies, stablecoins, Central Bank Digital Currencies (CBDCs), Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs), security-backed tokens, and asset-backed tokens. The company also added that it needs the prospective employee to have more than seven years of experience in the field of financial services business development along with exposure to “blockchain technologies and distributed ledger.”
Amazon “explores” the possibility of crypto adoption
Amazon, very recently, posted job opportunities seeking experience in the digital asset sector. Earlier this year, the company said that it is looking for an individual to fit in the software development manager role in Mexico for launching “a new payment method.” This was aimed at allowing residents to buy crypto coins with cash so that they could spend crypto for shopping on the platform.
In July, as TheCoinRise reported, the company again came in headlines after one of the company’s spokesperson totally denied any guesses of including Bitcoin (BTC) on its platform. He, however, added that Amazon is more focused on exploring the potential of the market and the possibility of adopting it.
