An Indian Couple swore eternal love via NFT vows in the presence of a digital priest

An Indian couple has come up with a unique way to show their eternal love for each other by using NFT to digitize their wedding over the Ethereum blockchain.

Shruti Nair and Anil Narasipuram, a newlywed couple from Pune, India, chose to take their love to the next level by organizing a blockchain wedding. 

“I read some articles on how people in other countries were doing blockchain marriages, and it motivated me,” says Anil, the husband.

Rebecca Kacherginsky, a staff product designer at Coinbase, is another renowned crypto entrepreneur who has followed the same trend.

Indian couple also brought the digital priest concept

The Indian couple was digitally accompanied by the digital priest Anoop Pakki, who was in charge of minting the NFT on OpenSea, as part of the blockchain wedding.

After gaining the blessings of the digital priest, the couple read out the vows, and the groom confirmed the transaction to transfer the NFT to the bride’s digital wallet. 

“The transaction took a few minutes (and about $35 in ETH gas fees) after which we were pronounced husband and wife by our digital priest!”

The NFT describes, “This contract is between Shruti Sathian Nair, born March 17, 1988, and Anil Mohan Narasipuram, born October 11, 1986. The parties to this agreement are hereby declared husband and wife, on November 15, 2021, and to have to hold, in sickness and in health, for now, and in perpetuity.”

The Indian couple read the vow, “We won’t make any big promises, but we will do everything we can to make this work. Through all our disagreement and conflict, we hope to grow our understanding of each other and ourselves.”

India to launch CBDC soon

During the Union Budget 2022, the finance minister of India, Nirmala Sitharaman, proposed the launch of a CBDC along with a 30% crypto tax by 2022–23.

As TheCoinRise reported, Sitharaman stated that the CBDC’s introduction would give the digital economy a “big boost,” as well as the possibility of a more efficient and less expensive currency management system.
