Billionaire Paul Tudor Jones Now Prefers Crypto as Inflation Hedge Over Gold

Hedge fund manager Paul Tudor Jones has now taken sides in the everyday Bitcoin/Gold debate as a hedge against inflation. The billionaire confirmed his choice by saying that bitcoin is presently “winning the race against gold.” He then added that the cryptocurrency would be his go-to inflation hedge instead of gold.

Paul Tudor Jones Goes for Bitcoin Over Gold

Founder of asset management firm Tudor Investment Corp, Paul Tudor Jones, spoke about his choice during an interview with CNBC on Wednesday. in the interview, the founder talked about bitcoin being his preferred hedge against inflation. He then went on to highlight the fact that the world is gradually becoming a digitized one, a world where crypto definitely has its place. Continuing, Jones talked about Bitcoin presently winning the race against gold and how it would naturally be an easy option for him to choose the former over gold at the present moment.

Expressing his worries about rising inflation, he quickly noted that the inflation seriously threatens the U.S financial markets and the just recovering economy.

As we reported here at TheCoinrise on Wednesday, the price of bitcoin surpassed all-time highs after the first bitcoin futures ETF in the U.S. started trading on the NYSE. In the past 12 months however, Gold has lost 8% while bitcoin is 437% up.

When asked to share his thoughts on investing in a bitcoin ETF in order to get exposure to the cryptocurrency, the billionaire investor didn’t have so much to say. Admitting his inexperience about ETFs, Jones believes that a better way to learn how to own it, is to first own the physical Bitcoin. He then added that, that will give much comfort and afford an investor the time to get to learn the ETF, especially seeing as it is now SEC-approved.
