Bitcoin startup Moon has finally collected $2.1 million funds to grab new opportunities and to provide several other kinds of crypto payments in the e-commerce world. It will enable Moon to bring new partnerships and strengthen its services.

Moon Chief Executive officer (CEO) Ken Kruger said in an interview with CoinDesk that the startup company is working on bringing web and mobile applications. Moon only uses Coinbase as the exchange to fund moon cards, but bringing the app will help the company do so with accounts from other crypto exchanges. Additionally, it will also increase the Moon’s global presence and let users pay with other stablecoins along with the Bitcoin.

The Bitcoin startup is also planning to increase its team size, which currently is seven. Although it might not seem like much, there are plans on recruiting additional members.

Many high-profile organisations participated in the round, including New Form Capital, Fulgur Ventures, Bentaus, Charlie Lee, the former CTO of Blackstone, Bill Murphy, Fenbushi Capital, and SBX Capital.

Kruger also added that Moon is searching for the exchanges that are seeking off-ramp payment services, and it is also searching for the crypto actors who can offer stablecoins. The CEO also revealed that he is working with Celo and Zcash.

Bitcoin startup available to foreign merchants soon

In the extension of Bitcoin startup, Lightning is used to generate the invoice that any account wallet can pay on Lightning. In the end, users can pay for the items in the cart using the card.

But the problem is that these cards are only available for free in the U.S. and can only be used once as they collect very minimal personal information. However, the company is also planning to make the cards available to merchants outside the U.S. This will increase the geographical reach and ease. Ken Kruger added that the company might need some bank partners in different countries, and they are communicating with Visa to eliminate it.
