Bitfinex Pay integrates with MetaMask as demands for crypto payments rises

As part of efforts to expand its userbase and meet up with public demands, Bitfinex Pay has finally integrated with MetaMask, the renowned browser and wallet extension. This move will see the crypto payment gateway opening its door to users in their tens of millions.

Bitfinex Pay Gives In to The Demands of Crypto Community

By the reason of this integration, which is now officially live, Bitfinex Pay will now have access to the over 10 million active users of MetaMask. The users can now simply log into their wallets, and be able to receive or send crypto payments directly via the payment gateway.

For merchants hoping to accept payments through Bitfinex Pay however, they are required to first register an account with Bitfinex. After this, they will be subjected to an identity verification process with the same company. Upon completing the verification process, merchants can then integrate the Bitfinex Pay widget on their websites.

Speaking on the integration, the chief technology officer of Bitfinex Pay, Paolo Ardoino believes that MetaMask’s wallet is quite a common tool in the digital token space. Rightly so though, can be seen in the wide userbase of the protocol, and it’s role in bringing in millions of new users to decentralized finance, or DeFi.

MetaMask has undoubtedly been playing an important  role in bringing new users to the crypto market. As TheCoinrise reported in October, the platform has partnered with three crypto-focused custodians — BitGo, Qredo and Cactus Custody — to bring more institutional offering to crypto. Particularly notable was when MetaMask collaborated with BitGo, seeing as the company had been earlier acquired by Galaxy Digital back in May.

Just as digital assets are becoming more widely adopted and going mainstream, the demand for crypto payment gateways is also expected to rise.
