Renowned Latin American cryptocurrency exchange, Bitso is now the official sponsor of the Sao Paulo Football Club (SPFC), the Brazilian team with the most international trophies. While the financial terms of the deal were concealed, the partnership will serve as a prominent awareness platform for Bitso to present the growing world of digital currencies in a good light.

The partnership will see SPFC imprint the logo of Bitso on its team’s jersey for the next three years beginning this January. With Bitso as the official brand partner of the Sao Paulo Football Club, as many as 20 million fans of the club in Brazil will gain exclusive access to purchase tickets through digital currencies.

Riding on the deal, as many as 18,000 seats have been reserved for Bitso customers at the SPFC’s Morumbi stadium.
While Bitso is the very first exchange to support a high-flying football club in Brazil, other trading platforms have notably pioneered sports teams sponsorship for some time now. Prominent amongst these is Crypto.com and FTX Derivatives Exchange.
As TheCoinRise reported earlier, Crypto.com revealed a collaboration with the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) as the sports tournament sought to enter the world of Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs). Additionally, FTX Derivatives Exchange secured a super bowl ad spot to promote digital currencies back in October 2021, in a bid to advance the overall outlook of the crypto ecosystem.
While some regulators have cracked down on moves by crypto entities seeking sponsorship on concerns that the broad industry is not regulated, the available opportunities to explore ads are being embraced and harnessed very well by all parties.
