In celebration of International Friendship Day, Coca-Cola, one of the oldest and most renowned beverage businesses in the world, recently unveiled a new NFT collection on the Polygon blockchain.

The NFTs were made available as gratitude to individuals that helped Coca-Cola on its metaverse journey, according to a tweet from Polygon Studios.

The NFT launch news by Coca-Cola doesn’t come as a surprise as the NFT collection has already attracted the community’s interest, as TheCoinRise reported. It conveys a message of connection and unity and has a design that was influenced by the bubbles inside a Coke bottle.
Coca-Cola Friendship NFT
The friendship collectible was airdropped to owners of the previous Coca-Cola collectibles. The goal of the new NFT is to strengthen ties within the Coca-Cola community.
The option to exchange collectibles with a friend and celebrate friendship would be provided to the recipients. The NFTs must be shared with a friend in order for them to be revealed, which adds to their uniqueness.
Notably, Tafi, a business that produces digital characters, created the new NFT pieces. The NFT features a wide range of animations and color schemes, giving it a strong visual appeal.
Pratik Thakar, Head of Global Creative Strategy at Coca-Cola, commented on the friendship NFTs by stating, “International Friendship Day—which launched our metaverse journey in 2021—is the perfect milestone opportunity to thank and celebrate the people who have joined us. We hope to strengthen and expand our ‘Real Magic’ community by building connections through a variety of physical and virtual Coca-Cola experiences.”
As of now, these NFTs, along with the previous ones, do not focus on use cases, but the press release says as the community grows, NFT owners “will gain access to rewards and perks, including Coke Studio-powered experiences, gaming events, and early access to Coca-Cola Creations limited-edition product launches.”
The beverage firm has planned activations for International Singles Day (November) and Halloween (October) as part of its ongoing metaverse participation.
Another achievement for the blockchain is the launch of these digital goods on Polygon. In the upcoming months, Polygon hopes to bring more multinational firms to Web3.
