Coinbase to add two new cryptocurrencies to its arsenal

Coinbase is the biggest crypto exchange in all of the US. Currently, there are over 60 cryptocurrencies listed on the platform, although not in all the US states. Earlier in July, the CEO of Coinbase, Brian Armstrong, made a statement saying that the officials are considering adding over 100 more tokens. 

He had further added that listing the token on Coinbase doesn’t guarantee that the exchange will be endorsing the token. In another recent announcement, Coinbase guaranteed that the platform had decided on the addition of two more tokens. 

The first is the BadgerDAO (BADGER), and the second is the Rarible (RARI). These tokens can now be traded across the website, iOS, and Android Coinbase applications. A user can convert, buy, or sell these Ethereum-based tokens. 

Coinbase listing followed a price surge

It is a common scenario that whenever Binance or Coinbase lists a token, they undergo a price surge in the initial days. This is largely due to increased exposure, i.e., a large number of people start eying that token.

The BADGER and the RARI tokens followed a similar trend after being listed on the Coinbase PRO exchange.

According to the data by CoinmarketCap, the 30-day high for the BADGER token stands at 42.74 USD, while the 30-day low stands at 14.64 USD. On the other hand, the 30-day high for RARI is 29.02 USD, while the 30-day low is 11.94 USD. 

What are RARI and BADGER tokens?

The RARI token is utilized to govern the Rarible creator-centric NFT marketplace wherein the users who interact with the platform can mint NFTs following a few simple steps. The token’s listing on Coinbase PRO attracted a lot of attention. 

On the other hand, the BADGER token is the governance token for the BadgerDAO, which is a decentralized automated organization. This organization is capable of developing projects that involve the simplification of the usage of Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. 

In a similar move, we also reported that Coinbase will be launching the NFT marketplace wherein the users will be able to buy and mint NFTs. The platform already saw more than a million early signups.
