Hong Kong-based cryptocurrency exchange, Crypto.com has tapped the services of Matt Damon, a renowned Hollywood actor to help promote the trading platform. The promotion is coming in the form of a global campaign featuring a new ad, “Fortune Favours the Brave,” and is directed by Oscar-winner Wally Pfister and produced by David Fincher.

The advert targets Crypto.com’s ethos and seeks to attract a new crop of global customers who wish to change the course of history. The advert comes as a one-minute video that the platform says will be aired in more than 20 countries worldwide as it looks to build on its existing partnerships with Formula 1 and the UFC amongst others.

“The timing of this campaign coincides with the early stages of mainstream adoption of cryptocurrency, something we’ve been hard at work to advance since our founding five years ago” said Crypto.com Co-Founder and CEO, Kris Marszalek. “We’re very excited to introduce our company to a global audience inviting them to our secure platform with a message focused on financial independence and self-determination.” 

The Crypto.com trading platform highlights its ongoing community development programs including donations to Water.org, the NGO co-founded by Matt Damon. The trading platform says it is committed to the development of Web3.0 and the support of digital currencies that are billed to foster the growth of the future of the internet.

Crypto.com Brand Campaign: A Tale of Customer-First

While the financial details of the campaign were not revealed, Bloomberg said the firm could spend up to $100 million in the ad campaign. This fund is not a move to flash profitability, rather a move by the exchange to showcase that it focuses on the individuals that make up its ecosystem. This was re-echoed by Matt Damon.

“Much like what we’re doing with Water.org, Crypto.com is a cryptocurrency platform that shares my commitment to empowering people around the globe with the tools needed to take control of their futures,” said Matt Damon. “They have built a crypto platform that is accessible and puts people first.”

The Fortune Favors the Brave advert is set to be featured today on Fox Sports’ broadcast of Thursday Night Football where the Packers take on the undefeated Cardinals.
