On the top of the list is the married duo of Melanie Perkins and Cliff Obrecht of popular graphic design software Canva. They both have a shared estimated net worth of AUD 16.5 ($12.3) billion.

Meanwhile, at least 7 prominent crypto founders have found their way to the Australian Financial Review’s (AFR) “Young Rich” list of 2021.

Kain Warwick

Trading protocol Synthetix’s Kain Warwick is presently ranked as the most prominent crypto influencer in Australia. The founder of the derivatives trading protocol is coming in at seventh overall with a net worth totaling around AUD 879 million ($657 million).

With a total value locked of $2.2 billion, Kain Warwick’s Synthetix ranks 22nd in terms of how large a DeFi protocol is. Its native SNX token is also the 85th-largest crypto asset with a capitalization of $1.9 billion.

Warwick Brothers on Illuvium

Three of Kain Warwick’s brothers are also on AFR’s list, including Keiran, Aaron, and Grant. The three brothers are responsible for co-founding the upcoming play-to-earn crypto game Illuvium. Keiran is estimated to have a net worth of AUD 463 million ($346 million) making him rank 22nd on the list, while Aaron follows closely behind at 26th with AUD 425 million. Grant then comes in at 34th place with an estimated net worth of AUD 196 million.

The Green Energy Bitcoin Miners Also Among Crypto Founders

Two brothers Daniel and William Roberts, who founded the Bitcoin (BTC) mining firm Iris Energy earlier this year, have also made the list. The duo rank 19th and have a combined AUD 484 million.

Just a week ago, the firm filed for an initial public offering (IPO) with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to float about $100 million.

Sergienko’s rise to fame

Lastly, Sydney-based Sergei Sergienko came in at 60th, having a net worth of AUD 97 million ($72.5 million). His worth, partly as a result of his founding of Chronobank in 2016 — a blockchain-based firm.
