Dapper Labs partners up with two major firms led by Nations Basketball League’s top star, Kevin Durant, i.e., Boardroom and Thirty Five Ventures. The two firms entered into an agreement with the blockchain-based firm, while the stipulations of the agreement remain undisclosed.
Dapper Labs’ most successful project, the NBA Top Shot, has become quite popular with NBA fans, and to expand their interest, the firm keeps on partnering with the biggest superstars from NBA.
According to the statement from Dapper Labs, a part of the deal involves Kevin Durant as the curator and creator for NBA Top Shot Moments. NBA Top Shot is a digital marketplace that is developed by the firm wherein officially licensed blockchain-based ‘moments’ can be sold or bought.
Dapper Labs and Boardroom shake hands
On the other hand, Boardroom stated that the two firms will be responsible for multiple giveaways and sharing behind-the-curtain video content. NBA stars have a huge fanbase, and Boardroom partnered with Dapper Labs to capitalize on the same.
Due to the rising demand for NFTs and the surge in popularity of Top Shot Moments, Kevin Durant and Michael Jordan were some of the few investors in the firm.
On their partnership, the CEO of Dapper Labs, Roham Gharegozlou, commented,
“From the moment we met with Kevin and [Thirty Five Ventures co-founder Rich Klein], it was clear that we shared a passion to bring fans closer than ever and in the most epic ways to their favorite athletes.”
The NFT explosion continues
The explosion of the NFT industry brought a number of opportunities. The rival of Dapper Labs, Sorare, has also become quite popular as the two firms continue to increase their partnerships. Recently, the blockchain-based firm acquired Brud.
Recently, Sorare partnered with Germany’s primary football league, Bundesliga. The goal of the partnership is to enable Sorare players to manage or trade all the players from Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2.
However, Dapper Labs and Sorare both share common partnerships with LaLiga.
