Internet-related service provider Google issued its yearly list of the most popular searches for the year on Tuesday, categorizing them into multiple categories such as searches, news, people, movies, games, and others.
The “Year in Search 2021” by Google Trends records that meme token Dogecoin is sitting at the fourth position of the most popular news search term on the search giant Google in 2021, both internationally and separately in the U.S.

Elon pushed Dogecoin
The main reason behind the hype of the meme coin is the hype Elon Musk creates around Dogecoin on the social media platform Twitter. It recently touched a new ATH just before Elon Musk’s SNL appearance.
He recently clashed with the Binance CEO over issues regarding Dogecoin withdrawal on the platform.
Interestingly, despite crypto being one of the hottest topics in 2020, not a single crypto token was featured on the list for 2020. Along with that, the king coin, the most-valued crypto in the market, is not included in any category of the “Year in Search 2021.”
Dogecoin, which was launched in 2013, has become one of the most prominent cryptos in 2021, having entered the top ten biggest assets by market capitalization.
