Fashion Brand Lacoste Floats its Own NFT Collection – Underwater

Iconic fashion brand, Lacoste is diving into the Web3.0 ecosystem with the launch of its Non-Fungible Token (NFT) collection, UNDW3, also called Underwater.

The NFT collection is Lacoste’s own way of fueling a wide embrace with its community of fans whom it noted will now have more direct access to be a part of the Lacoste family.

“If Lacoste is still here after all these years, it is because of one thing: you. In a world more and more connected, we think the next big step is to add you to our core team,” the company said in the tweet, adding that “By owning a part of the Lacoste experience you will join the Lacoste Family and will have your word to say on our future.”

There are a total of 11,212 collectibles and each will be sold for 0.08 Ethereum tokens, besides the gas fee. Collectors who may wish to participate in the initial mint must be ready to fight a gas war, considering renowned projects of this nature are typically bound to generate a lot of interest across the board. The sale is scheduled for today, June 14th at 12:12 CET.

The Lacoste NFT Benefits

While the fashion brand did not reveal what users stand to benefit from holding the Underwater NFT collectible, the company said users will be granted access to a unique customization experience as a part of the Lacoste Experience.

“In the upcoming month we will announce many utilities for the owners of the underwater NFT. Sorry, we couldn’t resist spoiling you a bit, the tweet reads, “As you know, you can customize our products when you order them. As a supporter of the Lacoste Experience, you will have access to a unique customization. A good way to show that you’re part of the community by flexing with a unique Polo!”

Besides Lacoste, a lot of fashion brands are gradually making their way into the Web3.0 world, either through the acceptance of crypto as payments as in the case of Farfetch or through the launch of unique NFTs as can be attributed to Dolce & Gabbana amongst others.
