FTX Founder had Meetings with President Biden’s Senior Advisors

Sam Bankman-Fried, the former CEO of now-bankrupt exchange FTX, reportedly had at least four meetings with government representatives at the White House in 2022, one of which apparently took place just two months prior to the great FTX saga.

The majority of the encounters were made public in the visitor logs in the monthly post of the White House. According to the records, Bankman-Fried managed to meet twice with Counselor of the President Steve Ricchetti on April 22 and May 12, as well as with a policy adviser Charlotte Butash again on May 13.

Notably, a Bloomberg article on December 29, claims that the former FTX CEO furthermore had a meeting with the president’s counselor Ricchetti as recently as September 8. However, the last meet up did not appear on the visitor logs.

The meeting’s discussions were concentrated on the cryptocurrency sector, exchanges, and pandemic preparations, and no political topics were brought up, according to sources at Bloomberg. 

It is also interesting to note the disclosure that was made just three days after being released on a $250 million bail bond, a member of the bitcoin community claims to have observed SBF “chilling” with FBI agents, and attorneys in a waiting area at John F. Kennedy International Airport.

FTX Founder’s Frequent Visit to Washington

Bankman-Fried was believed to have frequently visited Washington. Regardless of the fact that he resided in the Bahamas, he tried to have an authority to make decisions in crypto policy and establish contacts. 

Additionally, it has been mentioned in earlier reports that Bankman-Fried contributed a lot to the Democrats. Recently, Elon Musk asserted that SBF gave the Democratic party more than $1 billion to help the party in the elections. 

Three well-known Democratic political organizations have lately declared their intention to repay the one million dollars Sam Bankman-Fried contributed for the 2020 and 2022 election cycles.
