Kickstarter that aims to influence policymakers through BTC book gets 5x funding

To decrease their reliance on the standard media narrative on digital assets, a group of eight Bitcoin (BTC) enthusiasts initiated a Kickstarter effort to print an instructive book for America’s federal lawmakers. The campaign received $23,151 in funding, nearly five times more than its $5,000 goal.

The book was created shortly after the $1.2 trillion bipartisan infrastructure bill was passed in the United States House of Representatives, which seeks to impose strict investment reporting obligations on the crypto community. The authors argue that:

“We set out to write a book to help policymakers understand where Bitcoin users are from and what they care about. We want to dispel the notion that it’s nerd money and show how it’s impacting so many people in America.”

Jimmy Song, a crypto entrepreneur and famous author from Texas, started the Kickstarter. Annaliese Wiederspahn, Pete Rizzo, Gary Leland, Amanda Cavaleri, Charlene Fadirepo, CJ Wilson, and Lamar Wilson are among the other authors.

The manuscript for the Bitcoin book has been developed and will be completed by the end of 2021, as planned. The authors want to make the audiobook and paperback ready for purchase by January 2022, with a book launch event in Washington DC to support and promote this book.

Kickstarter plans on fair utilization of the funds

While the Kickstarter authors of the Bitcoin book have already budgeted $5,000 for the book’s creation, the remaining funds will be used to finance the book’s launch party. The authors revealed that $3,000 has already been spent in the book sprint process for production of manuscript. The company will use the funds in:

1. Hiring of a researcher to add references
2. Producing an audiobook
3. Creating the cover for both soft and hard cover

The Kickstarter announcement further states:

“As authors of this book, we recognized that the impressions in Washington were far from the reality and sought to correct this perception.”

The huge funding amount clearly sends the message to the regulatory bodies all around the world and it would be interesting to see the impact of the upcoming book
