Crypto.com aims to deliver Web 3 education to LeBron James hometown
Crypto.com has partnered with the LeBron James Family Foundation, according to the Akron Beach Journal, a local newspaper in Akron, the hometown of Los Angeles Lakers basketballer. The exchange will participate in the foundation’s I Promise initiative, which aims to educate local children about the various opportunities available in the booming cryptocurrency sector.
The four-time NBA champion said in a statement to the newspaper that the decision was made to ensure that Akron did not fall behind in the blockchain revolution. He stated that Crypto.com would assist the community in achieving his goal.
LeBron James said that he and Crypto.com agree that educating and supporting his community with the information and resources they require for inclusion is essential. “I’m looking forward to working with them to bring these opportunities to my community,” he added.
One representative of Crypto.com’s CEO, Kris Marszalek, told the Akron Beacon that the exchange is honored to collaborate with LeBron James and his organization. He goes on to say that the program will benefit not only the community but others as well, allowing more people to adopt cryptocurrencies and achieve financial independence.
The program will involve more than 1,600 children and their families who are enrolled in the foundation’s I Promise school. This collaboration comes as Crypto.com recently topped on Google Play Store through its app. The Lakers and Clippers of the NBA, the Kings of the NHL, and the Sparks of the WNBA all call Crypto.com Arena home. The crypto exchange also signed a partnership deal with the UFC or Ultimate Fighting Championship to launch UFC NFTs.
