Mexico has recently come up with a new application of blockchain technology. MDS Mexico, the medical service company, has announced the launch of a rapid COVID-19 testing service that will use blockchain technology for result verification.

The local media website iProUP news’ recent report, the company has released a platform that will allow the users to see the real-time updated results.

MDS Mexico report also incorporates QR Scanning

The company has also offered the physical delivery of the reports with a QR code included. One can scan this code to verify the results and to get the patient’s vaccination history recorded on the Blockchain of the company.

MDS Mexico said that the main idea behind the inclusion of Blockchain was to safeguard patients’ test results and personal data. It added that this would also prevent any falsification of the COVID results. The website says:

“To prevent the falsification of negative results, we began to certify the SARS-CoV-2 detection tests with blockchain technology and cryptographic signature. It protects the information in a unique and immutable QR Code that can be verified worldwide.”

TheCoinRise has covered the various applications and use cases of Blockchain, and the governments and firms are bringing even more use cases every day.

Showing the legitimacy of the testing results, the MDS’s Blockchain will also contain the doctor’s signature who has verified the results of the test.

MDS is not the first company that has implemented blockchain technology in the medical field. Previously in April, the National Chamber of Commerce (CANACO) of Mexico, partnering with blockchain technology firm Xertify, had initiated a drive to digitize vaccination passports.

Similarly, in Australia, the blockchain technology representatives brought the idea of implementing the blockchain technology in the COVID-19 vaccination program registration to combat the fake vaccine passports in August.

These types of initiatives not only make the system transparent but also help as the medium to increase Blockchain and crypto adoption among people.
