Opera browser has introduced a new set of security tools dubbed Web Guard to tackle problems experienced during encounters with malicious actors in the Web3.0 space. The use of this protection tool will help users reduce the result of their exposure to common possible risks and malicious decentralized applications (dApps).
Examples of such dApp-related security issues are suspicious code, security vulnerability, and audit history. With the help of this tool, users have the right knowledge of the nature of the DApp that they are about to engage in and get alerted whenever any of the suspected vulnerability shows up.
Also, this suite of browser security features will protect users against seed phrase phishing attacks and malicious actors.
To check for seed phase phishing attacks, the Web Guard runs a scan through the web pages to make sure that there are no signs of an exploit like phishing keywords and properties. This action will run in such a way that it doesn’t compromise users’ data or infringe on their privacy.
In addition to this, the browser now has a malicious address checker which informs users of any suspected activities on a recipient address. The malicious address checker works by screening the recipient address against an already organized list of known malicious agents. Once a suspected activity is detected, users are immediately informed.
The web browser also has the ability to activate HTTPS on any web page, with this, it reinforces more security. Users are guaranteed more protection as this process will ascertain that websites put up reliable encryption techniques for users’ safety.
Opera Expands Offerings to Users
In the last two months, Opera browser has been putting additional measures in place to guarantee users’ protection.
DegenKnows, a new non-fungible token (NFT) monitoring, tracking, and exploration tool with on-chain and off-chain statistics was introduced by Opera. This tool helps users to explore NFT projects and also gain access to social media community information.
Opera browser announced that its users will receive the capability to design their own no-coding NFT in real-time using Alteon Launchpad come next year. Ultimately, these users get the opportunity to be active in the Web3.0 creator economy.
