The project confirmed its plans to leverage its latest relationship with the Hollywood talent agency to expand its intellectual property across films, television and even Web3.0 gaming and in the end reach new audiences.Â
“We’re proud to announce that @WME will be representing us as our official talent agency., Together, with WME’s relationships in film, TV, and gaming, we will focus on strategic partnerships that help Pudgy Penguins reach new audiences,” Pudgy Penguins tweeted on Friday, May 5th.
Pudgy Plans to Expand Intellectual PropertyÂ
Pudgy Penguins is one of the highest-selling digital collections in history and so far, it has raked in more than $250 million in sales since its launch two years ago. For a while now, the project has been targeting its effort towards making its intellectual property mainstream.Â
Before the Amazon marketplace launch was postponed, Pudgy Penguins was to be listed alongside Yuga Labs’ Bored Ape, Mutant Ape, and a host of others.
NFT Projects In Collaboration with Hollywood Talent Agencies
It is worth noting that this is not the first time an NFT project is bagging a Hollywood collaboration deal to spread its tentacles.
In 2021, a pseudonymous NFT collector identified as ‘0xb1′ was said to have teamed up with Creative Artist Agency (CAA), a renowned Hollywood talent agency. At the time, the goal of the alliance was to influence collaboration between the NFT collector and other blue-chip digital collection companies.
At the beginning of this year, PROOF, the firm behind blue-chip NFT Moonbird struck a deal with the United Talent Agency (UTA).
Kevin Rose, the co-founder of PROOF confirmed that UTA will serve as a broker for the company’s collaboration with other organisations. With UTA’s presence across television, music, video games, sports, books, broadcast, film, marketing, and many other areas, PROOF believed that it was the right choice for the Moonbird brand.Â
WME Holds Other NFT-Related PartnershipsÂ
Also, Pudgy Penguins’ latest partner has had other NFT-related deals before this time. Dapper Labs co-founder Mack Flavelle, the Boss Beauties project, pseudonymous NFT artist FEWOCiOUS and artist Claire Silver are some of WME’s clients.
