The renowned fintech company Revolut has announced that it will increase its crypto-focused staff by 20% across the United Kingdom, the United States, and the European region in the coming six months.

The company has opened 13 industry-related job posts, which includes crypto legal professionals, software engineers, crime prevention and financial compliance experts. Moreover, Revolut has 230 open positions across all teams.

As per a recent report by Bloomberg, the company has already employed 43 employees for its crypto team this year, increasing its team’s headcount by almost 200%.

The hiring drive is aimed at supporting Revolut in increasing the variety of cryptocurrencies it offers. Currently, it functions as an exchange platform where users can trade more than 80 digital assets and earn cryptocurrency by rounding up their daily purchases. On this site, users can also make money while learning about cryptocurrencies.

Emil Urmanshin, company’s general manager of cryptocurrency, stated, “We see crypto as a long-term play and remain bullish on the crypto industry.” He revealed that 5 to 10 percent of Revolut’s overall revenue is currently generated by cryptocurrencies.

The business was established in 2015 and is well-known as a simple and inexpensive foreign exchange service. During the Covid-19 outbreak, activities in this area reduced because of travel restrictions and lower spending. Urmanshin stated:

“Although there has been turmoil, interest in crypto assets has increased and we still have more customers trading crypto than during July 2021.”

Revolut committed to expand its business

Unlike major crypto players Coinbase and OpenSea who trimmed off a several chunk of its staff during the crypto bear market, Revolut is committed to expand its business prospects both as a fintech firm and in the digital currency ecosystem. Revolut recently announced the launch of its crypto trading service in Singapore, as TheCoinRise reported. Deepak Khanna, head of wealth and trading at Revolut Singapore, stated:

“We believe the regulatory strengths in Singapore and proactive industry engagement are key to serving clients with the highest standards.”
