Sorare strikes a deal with Bundesliga for another NFT release

Sorare is the leading firm in the European soccer non-fungible token (NFT) industry that has shaken hands with Germany’s primary football league, Bundesliga. 

This is the first time the German association and the football platform will be joining hands. 

Sorare is a blockchain-based fantasy football game that has gained popularity. There are multiple virtual cards present in the game using which players manage a team. While playing this game, the players can buy, sell, and trade players as well. These virtual cards are Ethereum-based tokens that the players possess. 

After partnering up with Bundesliga, the players on the blockchain-based game, Sorare will be able to play, trade, and manage NFTs from Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2. 

Sorare forming partnerships with two of the biggest soccer leagues

On September 7th, Sorare announced that the platform would be partnering with the leading soccer league, La Liga. La Liga is Spain’s soccer league that had also partnered with the rival of Sorare, Dapper Labs. 

The partnership with Bundesliga and La Liga combined gave Sorare access to 3.5 billion football fans all over the world. This makes the situation between Dapper Labs and Sorare quite interesting as the two companies race to reach the top. 

During the 2020-2021 period, Bundesliga made a whopping 4.5 billion USD in revenues, showing dominance over Major League Baseball for the same period. 

The competition with Dapper Labs

Dapper Labs is also a rising blockchain-based firm that recently acquired Brud. Sorare and Dapper Labs raised $680 million at a valuation of $4.3 billion in Series B round and $250 million at $7.6 billion valuation.

The common partnership with La Liga and their interest in the NFT industry has spurred a competitive rivalry.

The CEO of the firm, Nicolas Julia, revealed in an announcement that the partnership with La Liga would bring tokenized videos to the platform, called NFT Moments. This release was a result of the NBA Top Shot marketplace released by Dapper Labs.
