Topps Launches MLB World Series NFT Collection

Popularly known collectibles and candies company, Topps has announced that it is launching its 2021 Topps NOW MLB World Series non-fungible token (NFT) collection. The announcement is coming after the firm launched its series two 2021 Topps Baseball NFT collection. But just as was the case with the company’s previous NFT launches, Topps is still using the Avalanche blockchain network for the new World Series NFT collection.

Topps Launches MLB World Series NFT Collection

Since 2020, the American based company that produces candy, Bazooka chewing gum, and collectibles, Topps Company, Inc., has shifted its focus to non-fungible token (NFT) and blockchain technology. So far, the company has already released a number of collections including the popular Major League Baseball (MLB) and the Garbage Pail Kids. Just a fortnight ago as well, it dropped a new collection that it calls the Godzilla Rage. The collection features packs of NFTs showing 17 pages of comic animations.

Following the recently launched 2021 Topps Baseball NFT collection however, the firm has now launched the 2021 Topps NOW MLB World Series NFT collection. This new series is powered by the Avalanche blockchain, and is also dedicated to the World Series, offering “officially licensed player imagery and NFT-exclusive digital animations”. Launched on Oct. 27, the series says if by Tuesday, Nov. 9, fans have collected the whole series, then they will go on to receive a special Topps NOW NFT variant as a reward.

Meanwhile, Topps is confirming that the 2021 World Series NFT collection packs will come at $25 per pack with each pack having one NFT digital collectible. On a daily basis, there will be only 1,000 packs available, with each of those packs standing equal chances of winning rarities since all the singles are scarce. The announcement also confirms that the packs will get to NFT buyers within three business days after the MLB World Series ends.
