Tweet by Lauren Walker mocking the NFTs is turned into $5K NFT

Lauren Walker, a Twitter user, tweeted a statement saying that she was “stealing” Non-fungible tokens (NFT), only to flip crypto-Twitter around and put her comments in a thousand-dollar token list.

In an Oct 2 social media posting, Walker sarcastically stated she had valued her existing collection of NFTs at over $8 trillion, claiming she had just right-clicked and saved the photographs to her drive. Walker said she has “a real job” and can’t sit here blabbering and disregarded criticism from the community. The statement misses the verified scarcity underpinning tokenized pictures and works of art.

More than two crypto fans took screenshots of Walker’s comments and replies. They minted them on the OpenSea platform for auction as a response to the act by Walker. The user CaptainFantastic has bid it, giving the name “have fun staying poor.” The price is staying at around $5,100, which is roughly 1.5 Ether. The other user named Clown World NFT is still waiting for any bids.

Criticism followed Lauren Walker

Statements by Lauren Walker will be reasonable for someone who does not have a working knowledge of NFTs. The tokenization of an image makes it unique and gives it worth for someone willing to assign it value. This can never be done in a standard JPG, PNG, or GIF.

In September, a YouTuber traded a Tesla Roadster for a single NFT, fully functional, for $100,000. Mike Winkelmann sold one of his digital art pieces for $69 million in March.

A user said that it is pumping them. It shows how early things are in the NFT community. It is just like using social media in 2003 and arguing, why would someone use it? They can simply go and visit a friend.

A user compared the argument with physical art and made a joke of her by saying that this is basically like “stealing” the Mona Lisa by taking a photograph of it.
