Twitter survey directs Elon Musk to sell $23B of Tesla stock

Tesla founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Elon Musk says that he will make the decision of selling 10% of Tesla stock (TSLA) as per the Twitter audience’s votes.

On November 6, Bitcoin fan Musk posted a proposal of selling 10% of $TSLA using a poll. He wants people’s views on the United States tax policy. The sale, according to the current price, would be worth around $23 billion.

Poll directs Elon Musk to sell $TSLA

Janet Yellen, U.S. Treasury Secretary, increased the entropy by arguing that the government should amend the tax policies to tax unrealized gains from “exceptionally rich” taxpayers. Elon Musk has avoided speaking directly on the matter but is saying to sell 10% of his Tesla stocks if the survey said him to.

Bitcoin supporters have raised their voice against the proposal as it directly means calculations that are all but not possible to be applied on cryptocurrency.

Musk said, “I will abide by the results of this poll, whichever way it goes.” 

At the time of writing, 3.4 million Twitter users have responded to the poll, out of which 57.7% are suggesting him to go ahead with the sale. The sale, if it happens, will have 19.3 million TSLA shares worth $23 billion as per the current market price.

Elon Musk has always been one of the most popular individuals with a huge following on Twitter. As TheCoinRise reported, the crypto fan and Tesla CEO said that the crypto industry is indestructible. Interestingly, after a month in October, Binance’s CEO slammed him and his company.

Musk has recently seriously warned the people over inflation, which he said is persisting after the short-term. 

The richest man influences the market very often with his announcements. The previous downtrend of the BTC resulted from many factors, including Tesla’s Bitcoin payment halting decision.

It would be interesting to see Elon’s actions after the poll, but there is also room for the decision reversal.
