Ukraine has responded to requests from the cryptocurrency world to accept crypto donations in other tokens. Country’s official Twitter account said the country would also accept Polkadot (DOT), a form of payment, with additional tokens to follow soon.

Gavin Wood donates $5.8 million to Ukraine
The co-founder of Polkadot, Gavin Wood, recently stated that he would personally contribute $5 million if the Ukraine wallets agreed to include DOT. He kept his word, contributing 298,367.2269896686 DOT (approximately $5.7 million) to Ukrainian wallets.

As TheCoinRise continuously reports on the matter, total crypto donation, which was $8 million two days back, has exceeded the $37 million mark. Notably, Wood’s donation, which is one of the greatest individual crypto contributions to date, accounts for more than 10% of all cryptocurrency donations.
Heavy donations
FTX CEO Sam Bankman-Fried has donated $25 to each Ukrainian on his trading platform, while Chain.com CEO Deepak Thapliyal donated 100 Ether (ETH), or more than $280,000 to the Ukrainian government.
According to Polkadot blockchain data, the Polkadot ecosystem has already contributed over $210,000 to the official DOT wallet for Ukraine since this morning.
Coingate, a Lithuanian fintech, provides a workaround for crypto that is not accepted in the country. It allows holders of other cryptocurrencies to donate funds to Ukraine.
To date, the cryptocurrency world has rushed to nation’s aid with donations and words of encouragement. According to Twitter observers, Ukraine’s unique crypto activity was an attempt to make history.
