Warner Music Group, an American multinational entertainment and record label conglomerate based in New York, is seeking to deepen its roots in Web3.0 and the metaverse. In effect, the company intends to expand its team to include people who can develop projects around the Web3.0 ecosystem.
Interestingly, these job openings come barely a week after the record label partnered with Non-fungible token (NFT) marketplace OpenSea to offer exclusive opportunities to artists under its label. As per the term of the agreement, OpenSea will “provide a platform for select WMG artists to build and extend their fan communities in Web3.”
Web3.0 and Metaverse Job Requirements
According to an advert posted on the American business and employment-oriented online service LinkedIn, the record label company has tagged one of the job listings as ‘Senior Director, Metaverse Development’. Applicants for this position are expected to have knowledge of the gaming ecosystem and interest in metaverse and blockchain concepts with a strong network.
Also, the applicant must have garnered at least ten years of experience in project development, game development, and content programming among other ecosystems. Applicant should be able to work and negotiate with stakeholders, business leaders as well as executives from Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A).
The job requires the director to identify and deliver opportunities for new strategic development partnerships in the digital media ecosystem.
Likewise, he would need to stay updated on the emerging Web3, Metaverse, Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR), and other gaming industry news, trends, and methodologies.
Warner Music Group also made a listing for ‘Director, Project Management.’ This position also seeks applicants that have vast knowledge and interest in the metaverse and blockchain technology. Notably, applicants for this position with more than four years of experience, are expected to possess strong knowledge of the gaming ecosystem.
This position is more focused on bagging partnership deals with brands in the Web3.0, metaverse, and gaming ecosystem.
One of the position job descriptions states that the applicant must be able to work with “game developer partners, gaming partners, web3 partners, platform partners, other creatives, label teams, and artists, to holistically manage the delivery of assets across various platforms and navigate competing priorities, allocating resources appropriately, and effectively clearing roadblocks.”
