The purchase brings BitMine's total holdings to roughly 5.9 million ETH.

The regulator's proposal would waive tax filing requirements on trust-based stablecoin holdings above a set yen threshold. Japan's Financial Services Agency has submitted a request for a tax filing exemption tied to trust-type stablecoins. The request forms part of the country's 2027 tax reform proposals, according to reporting from Cointelegraph and CoinGape.
