Binance founder Changpeng Zhao said he wants to help the United States become a major place for digital asset growth. His comments came shortly after he received a presidential pardon, which he said removed limits on his work and cleared the way for fresh plans in the country.

CZ Explains Shift Toward the U.S.

After receiving a Presidential pardon from United States President Donald Trump, Zhao spoke during Binance Blockchain Week in Dubai, where he said the United States is too important for large technology and finance companies to ignore.

As discussed, he explained that Binance kept its distance from the country during the Biden years and avoided new spending while dealing with legal battles. At the time, Binance US struggled with banking issues and the loss of several state licenses.

Zhao said the recent change in leadership encouraged him to look again at the market. He said many major firms built around digital assets operate outside the United States, including Binance, and he believes this trend can be reversed.

He also noted that many big investors in the country still do not have access to BNB, the company’s token, and he hopes this can be corrected with clearer rules and stronger partnerships.

Crypto Ties With Banks Remain a Major Focus

It is important to mention that Zhao said a stronger link between banks and digital asset companies will be necessary if the industry wants to grow.

He said simple access to banking services will help more people use these products in daily life and will also allow companies to operate with fewer interruptions.

The founder stressed that these steps are part of his larger plan to support development inside the country.

Meanwhile, in his address, Zhao also pointed to new laws such as the GENIUS Act, which sets rules for stablecoins, and early versions of the CLARITY Act, which aims to define digital assets.

He said these efforts show that lawmakers are trying to build a steady ground for the sector. CZ added that progress will take time, but he believes the country is moving in the right direction.

CZ Reflects on Recent Challenges

Zhao also spoke about his own legal case. He served four months in a United States prison in 2024 after pleading guilty to violating money-laundering laws. He said the experience was difficult but insisted no users were harmed and no fraud took place.

The gathering in Dubai brought together builders and investors from around the world. Zhao used the event to say he wants clear rules in more countries, but he believes the United States is now taking the lead and could set a path that others may follow.
