Hitachi America, Ltd. (Hitachi) has formally become a member of the Hedera Council, an organization dedicated to network innovation and decentralization.
Through the latest addition to the Hedera Council, both organizations hope to herald fresh innovation and industrial know-how. This latest addition means Hedera continues to double down on digital assets and Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT).
Hitachi, known for its extensive array of electronics, power, and industrial offerings across the Americas, is gearing up to pioneer proofs-of-concept for supply chain and sustainability solutions on Hedera in the coming year.
The Hedera Council which is an amalgamation of diverse global entities committed to network innovation and Hedera’s ongoing decentralization, welcomed Hitachi into its fold leading to an expansion.
Every council member has the same right to vote in shaping Hedera’s software and services and assume the responsibility of running the inaugural network nodes.
Vice President of the Big Data Analytics Solutions Lab at Hitachi Ravigopal Vennelakanti emphasized that “Hitachi perceives tangible opportunities in distributed ledger technology (DLT) solutions grounded in Hedera.”
According to him, “The network’s scalability, fortified security, and steadfast dedication to sustainability align seamlessly with real-world needs in supply chain resilience, clean energy, IT/OT, and semiconductor domains. Hedera’s unique DLT, providing a singular truth and tokenization mechanisms for distributed workflows, emerges as the solution to these challenges.”
The inclusion of Hitachi expands the Council’s arsenal and it augments the network with its technical prowess and research capabilities.
Renowned for innovation in industrial use cases, Hitachi’s entry brings a distinctive and invaluable edge to the Council.
The company’s proficiency in developing blockchain technology solutions for payment systems, supply chains, predictive maintenance, and mining further amplifies its contribution.
Additionally, Hitachi injects fresh expertise in machine learning and generative AI technologies, broadening the Council’s knowledge reservoir.
Bill Miller, co-chair of the Hedera Council’s membership board, noted, “DLT is evolving into real-world applications on a grand scale. The backing of industry stalwarts like Hitachi, with its illustrious history in forward-looking technology for industrial, energy, infrastructure, and mobility solutions, is pivotal.
“The appeal of Web3 infrastructure is growing among large enterprises, driven by the unprecedented transparency and accountability it affords to supply chain and other systems. Hitachi’s presence in the Council heralds innovation, and we eagerly anticipate their contributions built on Hedera,” he said
