KuCoin Strengthens Global Trust with New Certifications

KuCoin, one of the world’s leading crypto exchanges, has recently earned two major certifications: ISO 27701 and SOC 2 Type II. As announced, these new achievements build on the exchange’s previous ISO 27001:2022 certification. These moves reflect KuCoin’s strong commitment to protecting users and meeting global security standards.

KuCoin Raises the Bar for Data Privacy

The ISO 27701 certification focuses on the proper handling of personal data. It guides organizations on how to collect, store, use, and delete personal information safely. For KuCoin, securing this certificate means adopting stronger rules to protect user data across its global platform.

By reaching this milestone, KuCoin highlights that data privacy is not only a legal obligation but also a core part of its strategy to build lasting trust with users. The certification also shows that KuCoin is prepared to meet stricter regulations as governments around the world introduce new rules for digital asset platforms.

Alongside ISO 27701, KuCoin also achieved SOC 2 Type II certification. This certification reviews how a company manages its systems and processes over a period of time. 

This demonstrates that KuCoin’s internal controls, risk assessments, and response plans meet high standards of reliability. Together, these certifications prove that both user data and the platform’s daily operations are well protected.

Building a Secure and Sustainable Digital Ecosystem

According to Alexis Niu, KuCoin’s Global Data Protection Officer, these new certifications show that privacy is built into everything KuCoin does. The platform now uses strong protections like encrypted storage, data masking, regular system checks, and clear emergency plans in case of security issues.

KuCoin also carries out Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) to keep improving data safety. These steps give users more control over their personal data and make it easier to respond to their requests. Such measures are important as KuCoin expands worldwide, including becoming a fully regulated exchange in Thailand.

With these improvements, the exchange is also better positioned to compete with major players like Coinbase and Binance while preparing for future global regulations.

New Certifications Alignment with KuCoin’s $2B Trust Project

These certifications are part of KuCoin’s broader $2 billion Trust Project, launched earlier this year. 

The initiative focuses on increasing transparency, regulatory cooperation, and infrastructure resilience. By securing ISO 27701 and SOC 2 Type II, KuCoin is showing clear progress in its mission to protect sensitive user information and maintain long-term credibility.

KuCoin’s latest move comes as the crypto industry is currently facing growing scrutiny worldwide. Regulators in the U.S., U.K., and other regions are setting stricter compliance rules.
