Algorand Foundation Releases 2024 Roadmap

On January 17, the Algorand Foundation released its 2024 roadmap codenamed Algorand Gambit. Per this roadmap, the Algorand Foundation will deliver dynamic round times, Algokit 2.0, non-archival relays, consensus incentivization, and a P2P gossip network to its users this year. According to the Foundation, 2024 is pivotal for Algorand because the platform is committing to permissionless blockchain infrastructure.

As a result of these optimistic ecosystem developments, ALGO recorded a double-digit surge in the second week of February. On February 8, ALGO traded for $0.1667. A week later, ALGO gained a whopping 11.42% and sold for $0.1856. Tezos Teases Oxford 2 Protocol Upgrade

On February 9, Tezos introduced its 15th protocol upgrade called Oxford 2. According to Tezos, Oxford 2 will deliver private zk-rollups that will increase the flexibility of L2 deployments, improve the Tezos proof-of-stake to allow for changes in staking UX, and re-enabling time locks in smart contracts. Furthermore, Oxford 2 will leverage the upcoming launch of Etherlink on Tezos to appeal to a broader range of blockchain developers.

Thanks to this incoming upgrade, XTZ recorded a price surge in the second week of February. On February 8, XTZ traded at $1.0042. Seven days later, XTZ gained 6.14% and sold for $1.0731. Additionally, XTZ is one of the leading altcoins in the crypto industry, and experts predict that this price surge will continue in the coming weeks due to the upcoming BTC halving.
