The Spanish Red Cross Launches RedChain Protocol

The Spanish Red Cross is launching RedChain, a new blockchain aid system designed to enhance the tracking and verification of donations. According to a press release, this system helps protect beneficiary identities while giving donors proof of their impact.

RedChain: A Privacy-Preserving Blockchain Aid System

RedChain was created in collaboration with BLOOCK, a blockchain provider based in Barcelona, and Billions Network, which specializes in zero-knowledge credentials. Their goal is to digitize the entire aid process, from the moment a donation is made to when the funds are delivered to those in need.

Unlike traditional aid tracking methods, RedChain utilizes blockchain technology and zero-knowledge proofs to ensure transparency and accountability. Donors and administrators can see how funds are allocated and where they go, allowing them to understand the effectiveness of humanitarian efforts.

Importantly, the system ensures that no one can identify individual beneficiaries from its records. This guarantees the organization is accountable to donors and regulators while maintaining the privacy, safety, and dignity of beneficiaries. The use of zero-knowledge credentials is key to achieving this balance. As a result, RedChain adheres to strict data protection laws and addresses the increasing demand from donors for clear and dependable reports on impact.

Zero-Knowledge Proof Leads This Generation

For more than two decades, blockchain developers have pursued two elusive goals: privacy and scalability. Projects that achieved one often sacrificed the other. However, in 2025, Zero Knowledge Proof (ZKP) changed that equation entirely. Notably, ZKP changes the dynamic by allowing proof without exposure.

Instead of broadcasting transaction details, users generate mathematical proofs that verify validity while keeping sensitive data hidden. The blockchain stays secure and auditable, but private by design.

Unlike niche privacy tokens, ZKP is built for integration, not isolation. Developers can now deploy applications that rely on privacy-preserving smart contracts, institutions can utilize the network for cross-border transactions, and individuals can manage their digital identities safely.

Ethereum Foundation Charts Path to Privacy on Blockchain

Recall that the Ethereum Foundation has rebranded its Privacy and Scaling Exploration team to Privacy Stewards of Ethereum (PSE). As reported by TheCoinRise, the team aims to define and implement Ethereum’s privacy roadmap, making it a standard in the industry.

Meanwhile, the three main focuses of the roadmap deal with private writes, private reads, and private proving. As per the roadmap completed by Sam Richard, a team member, privacy is key to global financial freedom.
