Mythical Games, a web3.0 gaming studio, has partnered with Adidas, the iconic sportswear manufacturer. This partnership adds real-world branding and digital assets to the gaming experience. Meanwhile, the partnership comes ahead of its new mobile game, Federations Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) Rivals, on June 12.

Notably, Adidas will introduce digital items to FIFA Rivals. Players will gain access to exclusive virtual kits, jerseys, and shoes. These items will be tokenized to fit the game’s crypto-friendly system and play-to-own model. Players can wear and use these digital items in the game, and will be allowed to trade or sell them on supported blockchain marketplaces.

FIFA Rivals: A Vision for Player-Driven Soccer Gaming

FIFA Rivals is a free-to-play soccer game for Android and Apple’s iOS. The real-time arcade gameplay gives gamers governance control over their clubs. FIFA Rivals allows users to manage their clubs and compete against other players on the platform. According to Mythical, gamers get to “build their squad, create legacy, and dominate the competition.”

This suggests that gamers will have the freedom to form a team and select their favored players. Meanwhile, the Adidas partnership is vital in bringing traditional sports branding into interactive digital experiences.

By using Adidas’s assets, Mythical Games connects with the worldwide popularity of both football and sneaker culture. This also pushes the limits of player ownership and engagement in mobile gaming.

FIFA Supports New Experiences With Its Blockchain

As reported by TheCoinRise, FIFA plans to launch a new blockchain network, the FIFA Blockchain

This new system will be compatible with the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) chain. Furthermore, the move represents a change in FIFA’s approach to Web3.0. It focuses on improving user experience, allowing different systems to work together, and ensuring long-term growth.

FIFA has also moved its non-fungible token (NFT) assets to a new decentralized network, including the main collection of FIFA Collect. It is also worth noting that FIFA Collect is moving to the FIFA Blockchain.

FIFA’s Big Cryptocurrency Move

Over the years, FIFA has partnered with crypto initiatives and leveraged blockchain platforms to connect with fans and improve its operations. In 2022, the organization created its first NFT collection, dubbed FIFA+ Collect. The collection utilizes the Algorand blockchain technology, the official organization’s blockchain platform.

Recall that the soccer organization is considering creating its cryptocurrency. The token would allow fans to buy tickets, merchandise, and exclusive content, making transactions easier before the 2026 World Cup in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. However, FIFA has not yet shared the full details of the project.
