The President of the United States, Joe Biden, recently attracted the attention of the digital asset sector ahead of the 2024 presidential elections by posting an image of himself on social media platforms with ‘laser eyes,’ a prominent meme often used by Bitcoin enthusiasts.
As reported earlier by TheCoinRise, Joe Biden hasn’t been much of a supporter of the digital asset sector and made a “critical” call for global game-changing Bitcoin and crypto rules. The American politician made the call after the collapse of crypto exchange FTX and the TerraUSD ecosystem.
Joe Biden took to social media platforms X (formerly known as Twitter) and Instagram to post a photo of him, stating, “Just like we drew it up.”

It is important to note that the image was posted by the US president following the victory that the Kansas City Chiefs had over the San Francisco 49ers in the 2024 Super Bowl.
The 46th US president’s laser-eyed profile picture sparked varied interpretations. While some viewed it as a nod to Bitcoin, others discerned a deeper reference to the “Dark Brandon” meme.
This meme, steeped in the peculiar MAGA conspiracy realm, insinuated that the Super Bowl outcome would be manipulated in favor of Taylor Swift’s boyfriend, Travis Kelce’s team, in return for a subsequent endorsement of Joe Biden by the pop icon.
The president’s social media strategists have previously utilized the Dark Brandon meme as a means to increase his social media presence. They aim to portray Joe Biden in a light that resonates with younger, more trend-conscious demographics.
It is important to note that Joe Biden has never endorsed digital assets, and it is very unlikely that he would post about Bitcoin. However, the image has attracted the attention of Bitcoin enthusiasts.
Michael Saylor, the founder and executive chairman of MicroStrategy, the largest corporate holder of Bitcoin, has also set a ‘laser eye’ image of himself as his profile picture on X. Meanwhile, certain analysts predicted that Bitcoin would break above $50,000 once the image went viral in the digital asset sector. However, this did not happen, as BTC is currently trading at around $48,000.

As reported earlier by TheCoinRise, Joe Biden introduced a 30% tax on the bills of cryptocurrency miners who use electricity, attracting criticism from crypto firms and the digital asset sector.
Fred Thiel, the CEO of Marathon Digital Holdings, said that the proposal would drive investors out of the US.
