Ledger, a digital asset hardware wallet firm, has announced its collaboration with Coinbase Pay, a payment method to buy crypto debuted by the largest digital asset exchange in the United States in terms of trading volume.

The two firms will work towards simplifying the process of buying cryptocurrencies for potential investors that are still new to the digital asset market. As reported earlier by TheCoinRise, Coinbase Pay recently debuted the ability for users “to fund their Coinbase Wallet from the Chrome browser extension and explore Web3.”

Ledger and Coinbase Partner Up

According to the official statement, the users of the Ledger Live application will have the capability to “transfer their crypto and conduct transactions from their desktop or mobile device,” with the help of Coinbase Pay. However, this feature is currently restricted to a few countries, which include the US, UK, EU, Brazil, New Zealand, Australia, Canada, and Singapore.

The announcement read that the integration of Coinbase Pay benefits users of the hardware wallet by facilitating direct receipt of crypto purchases from Coinbase on their wallet.

“It also enables users to retain their preferred payment methods in Coinbase, including ACH, Visa, Mastercard, and Maestro,” read the statement.

Simplifying Crypto Purchases via Ledger

In the announcement, the hardware wallet provider noted that transferring crypto from Coinbase to any of its hardware wallets was a “cumbersome process that left users vulnerable to potential errors.” However, the partnership aims to simplify the process.

Coinbase Pay has been integrated into the “buy” section of the Live application, which “simplifies the crypto purchase process, enabling users to make purchases through their Coinbase account at the same cost as Coinbase.com and withdraw to your Ledger in just a few clicks.”

Back in December 2021, Coinbase partnered with Ledger to support hardware wallets and sought to offer users a very high level of security for their crypto assets.

Users have Options

Ian Rogers, chief experience officer at Ledger, stated that his company and Coinbase are now “focused on making crypto easy-to-use and keeping consumers secure,” while adding:

“Now Coinbase users can easily buy crypto right within Ledger Live, and Ledger users can easily buy with Coinbase. Ledger is proud to give this experience to Coinbase customers and option to Ledger users through this partnership.”

Roger stated that he sees a change in demand for self-custody in the digital asset space in the near future, adding that, similar to different bank accounts, users will have options for different hardware wallets.
