Blockchain startup Alchemy has announced its acquisition of ChainShot, a Web3.0 educational platform for prospective developers. With the deal, more developers will gain free access to Web3.0 developer education. This aligns with the everyday goal of the blockchain development company which is to “Bring web3 to a billion people.”

ChainShot, co-founders Cody McCabe and Dan Nolan is an e-learning service provider, always conducting coding boot camps for aspiring Web3.0 developers. Initially, ChainShot was a mere hackathon project which began in ETH Denver in 2018. Most of its boot camps are focused on the second largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization Ethereum (ETH).

Correspondingly, courses in the boot camps which were originally sold for at least $3,000 include blockchain fundamentals topics like a Solidity programming language, using decentralized oracles, cryptographic hashes, and digital signatures.

With this course, aspiring developers are equipped with enough knowledge to dive into the crypto industry unperturbed. Appearing to be a crucial point for Alchemy, the company described it as “a major step towards free access to high-quality web3 education.” Notably, this is the first of such acquisitions for Alchemy.

Alchemy Believes Free Web3.0 Education Will Arouse Developer’s Interest

Before now, Alchemy had noticed a huge gap preventing individuals to hop into Web3.0.

As explained in the published announcement, education is the greatest barrier to entry into Web3.0. In scrutinizing the crypto industry, access to updated knowledge is paramount to help developers, investors, and customers to make informed decisions. In light of this, the partnership was signed with ChainShot.

Henceforth, no matter the previous cost of a course, it will be offered at no cost to interested Web3.0 developers. Once the deal officially kicks off, Alchemy may be able to onboard new talents equipped with the right information from ChainShot. Especially as ChainShot is known to possess a pedigree of outstanding results over the years.

According to Alchemy, more than 86% of developers who enrolls in ChainShot’s courses and boot camps end up graduating. Likewise, more than 50% of the former number get jobs in key blockchain firms within six months of their graduation.

Besides the acquisition of ChainShot, Alchemy has been making a targeted expansion of its ecosystem and has integrated Polkadot’s parachain, the Astar Network.
