Animoca Brands Reports Over $2B in Cash and Tokens

Hong Kong-based Web3.0 group Animoca Brands has revealed that it has more than $2 billion in assets, making it one of the key players in the crypto sector.

The $2.102 billion asset is both in cash and tokens as of November 30th, 2023. Per the breakdown, Animoca Brands has $172 million in cash and stablecoins, $330 million in third-party tokens, and $1.6 billion in off-balance sheet tokens.

Animoca Brands Supports Web3.0 Projects 

Notably, this value encompasses Animoca Brands’ investments in prominent Web3.0 projects including infrastructure and gaming.

The unveiling of this data has sparked the interest of the public in the Web3.0 group. The data portrayed Animoca’s commitment to supporting other Web3.0 ventures. According to the report, the Hong Kong-based firm has invested in more than 400 projects since its inception and none of these investments were in meager sums.

Animoca in Multiple Fund Raisers

Almost two years ago, Animoca Brands raised $2 million for its turn-based Non-fungible token (NFT) battle game Kingdom Karnage in collaboration with Kriptomat, ExNetwork, MyMetaverse, DFG, Jsquare and many others. The game was designed to introduce new play-to-earn opportunities for its players. Similarly, the firm joined a first-quarter funding round organized by Intella X, a Web 3.0 gaming platform.

A total of around $12 million was secured in the financing round. Other investors like Big Brain Holdings, popular NFT marketplace Magic Eden, JoyCity, XL Games, Polygon, and Wemix equally took part in the financing round. These and many more showcase Animoca as a key influencer in the Web3.0 ecosystem. 

Animoca’s Mocaverse Project Garner Support 

In September, the company successfully raised $20 million by issuing new ordinary shares for its Mocaverse project. 

CMCC Global led the funding round with participation from the likes of Kingsway Capital, Liberty City Ventures, GameFi Ventures, Aleksander Larsen (founder of Sky Mavis), Gabby Dizon (founder of Yield Guild Games), and institutional investors of Koda Capital.

The company has recently completed another round where it secured an additional $11.88 million for the Mocaverse project. This brings the total fund raised for this Web3.0 project to $31.88 million. Apart from its support for other projects, the funds raised for the Mocaverse project reflect a growing interest in Animoca Brands.
