BitKeep, a non-custodial multi-chain cryptocurrency wallet has declared its 2023 roadmap amongst which it plans to rebrand to Bitget wallet.

Specifically, it would involve an alteration in its logo, app, and website. The decision for a makeover came after Bitget Wallet, a top crypto derivative and copy trading platform made a $30 million investment into the decentralized multi-chain wallet.

BitKeep intends to leverage the investment for the global expansion of its ecosystem as well as to boost its security upgrades. In addition to the rebranding plans, BitKeep intends to also restructure its management team and security system.

The Decentralized Finance (DeFi) wallet which was exploited a few months ago, will leverage Bitget’s expertise to introduce a “more stringent pre-release review process, partnerships with security auditing firms” like Certik.

Plus, “the inclusion of MD5 verification for APK packages, and the support of hardware wallet providers like Keystone.”

“We have successfully established ourselves as a reputable crypto wallet with a wide range of services including storage, swap, NFT marketplace, and more. After joining the Bitget ecosystem, we will be more confident in competing in the global market, reaching higher as more quality services and features are introduced – all in our endeavor to redefine what it means to serve as the ultimate portal into the Web3 space.” Moka Han, BitKeep’s Chief Operating Officer (COO) said.

BitKeep Users Are Protected by Bitget

In case of any potential security threat, BitKeep users will also be protected by the $300 million Bitget User Protection Fund. The BitKeep roadmap includes plans to build a more product-focused team with Karry Cheung, the current Chief Product Officer (CPO) as Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Also, some Bitget team members will join the BitKeep R&D and security team.

Noteworthy, BitKeep will function independently in terms of its operations and structure. In the coming months, the non-custodial wallet may be exploring MPC (multi-party computation) and AA (account abstraction). BitKeep announced that all affected users from the December hack have fully been compensated.

Gracy Chen, Managing Director of Bitget said “We are working with the BitKeep team to bring the most-used DeFi features, swap, NFT marketplace, and dApps, to the millions of users in the Bitget ecosystem, inspiring the next 1 billion individuals to embrace crypto as we expect in our mission.”
