BNB Chain has more Devs than Ethereum: Developer Claims

According to a developer’s tweet on December 22, the number of unique addresses on the BNB Chain has now surpassed Ethereum. 

The platform states: 

“We want to thank our incredible community for coming along for the ride as we lay the groundwork for an even bigger year to come.”

The developer asserts that the blockchain is now “the largest layer 1 blockchain in the world” as per the recent development. Nonetheless, blockchain research reveals that Ethereum and BNB Chain are still smaller networks than Bitcoin.

Ethereum presently has more than 217 million unique addresses, according to Etherscan while BscScan estimates that the BNB Chain contains approximately 233 million distinct addresses.

This suggests that by this criterion, BNB Chain is bigger than Ethereum. However, the Bitcoin network is bigger than these two networks put together, with over a billion distinct addresses.

In the “Year in Review” for the BNB Chain, the statement was confirmed. The article also highlighted other noteworthy accomplishments that the BNB network had made during the previous 12 months. 

BNB Chain Hitting Milestones

In May, the network hit a daily transaction cap of 9.8 million, and in October, it achieved a daily active user (DAU) cap of 2.2 million. DAUs are the amount of daily unique addresses that communicate with a smart contract.

The network’s developers attribute a number of activities this year to the network’s success in 2022. The BNB Sidechain protocol enabled developers of decentralized applications (DApps) to run their DApps on several network segments, reducing network congestion and transaction costs.

In addition with  the release of Soulbound tokens, the team also financed a builder grant and $10 million incentive programme for DApp developers, which encouraged the development of more DApps for the BNB Chain. 

The team also credited the introduction of Avenger DAO with its expansion. According to recent reports, BNB Chain facilitated the inclusion of more than a hundred collections to OpenSea within the first few hours after the collaboration became online.
