Coinbase partners with esports gaming organization Team Liquid

The global esports and gaming organization known for its roots League of Legends and Fortnite in the gaming world, Team Liquid has joined hands with cryptocurrency exchange giant Coinbase. The company, on Wednesday, announced the four-year agreement with the U.S.-based exchange where the two firms aim to point out the crossover between gaming and crypto-curious audiences. The partnership will also create fresh crypto-focused content. 

As per the official announcement, Coinbase’s major role would be to enable crypto payments for Team Liquid’s online marketplace. The two companies will be collaborating on technology to increase fan engagement.

Steve Arhancet, the owner and CEO of the gaming company, said,” Like a lot of our fans, crypto was new to me once, but once I started reading and watching, I realized that it wasn’t some passing fad — it’s here now, and will be in the future. Together with Coinbase, we hope we can demystify crypto for Team Liquid fans.”

Team Liquid is gearing up for huge possibilities

Team Liquid was founded back in 2000 and had over 100 gamers competing in esports gaming titles, including League of Legends, Fortnite, and Valorant. The organization’s jersey will now contain Coinbase’s information, and the exchange giant might assist the company in the development of NFTs used across the gaming platform. 

The gaming industry is highly attracted to the crypto industry these days. As TheCoinRise reported, recently, many firms, including Solana Ventures, floated a $100 million gaming fund for Web 3 gaming.

These days, many major crypto exchanges are competing with each other to grab the professional esports teams’ partnerships. Earlier this year, FTX has also announced its seven-year sponsorship agreement with the League Championship Series (LCS) for gaming competitions, including League of Legends.

The exchange giant has yet not made any statements about its views on its name appearing on Team Liquid’s jerseys.
