Crypto exchange giant Crypto.com has revealed its plans on using its ad time during Sunday’s 94th Academy Awards to air a TV spot related to the current condition and loss of Ukraine due to the ongoing Russia-Ukraine crisis.

Kris Marszalek, the CEO of Crypto.com, said in an announcement that the company has teamed up with the ICRC or International Committee of the Red Cross to release a campaign that would aim to help the sufferers of war-torn conditions in Ukraine.

Crypto.com already allows digital asset donations

Though more details about the project are not revealed by Marszalek, crypto.com has already allowed crypto, fiat, and NFT donations to the humanitarian network Red Cross Red Crescent. The exchange aims to match up to $1 million in donations before April 1.

The CEO says that “The humanitarian crisis caused by the conflict in Ukraine continues to escalate, and I believe it’s our responsibility to support those in need. Throughout this tragedy, the entire crypto community has come together to show the world who we are, our values, and the importance of what we’re building.”

Many private firms are supporting digital asset donations, such as Bitcoin (BTC) and Ether (ETH), to aid Ukrainians. In addition to receiving crypto donations directly through wallet addresses issued by the Ministry of Digital Transformation, Ukraine’s government launched a donation website on March 14 in collaboration with exchanges FTX and Kuna, as well as staking platform Everstake. As we reported, as of March 9, several charities, humanitarian organizations, and government wallets had received around $108 million in crypto to help Ukraine.

In addition to its efforts in Ukraine, Crypto.com announced on Tuesday that it will be an official sponsor of the 2022 FIFA World Cup, which will take place in Qatar starting in November. In the past year, the exchange has undertaken a huge marketing push, working with a number of sporting groups, including the Australian Football League, Formula 1, and the Ultimate Fighting Championship.
