DeFi Technologies reports AUM for its subsidiary Valour, surpasses $274M

DeFi Technologies stated on Wednesday that the assets under management of its subsidiary Valour had reached $274.2 million. Several crypto-denominated exchange-traded products, or ETPs, are offered by the company and are traded on European markets.

Notably, established in 2019, Valour Inc. issues “exchange-listed financial products that enable retail and institutional investors to access investment in disruptive innovations, such as digital assets, in a simple and secure way.”

The company established two such ETPs incorporating Uniswap (UNI) and Polkadot (DOT) last year. Valour buys and sells the identical quantity of underlying digital assets for each ETP that is purchased and sold on the stock exchange. Some ETPs don’t have any management fees.

The ETPs of DeFi Technologies include $95.2 million in Bitcoin Zero, $67.4 million in Ethereum Zero, $43.4 million in ADA Valour, $38.5 million in SOL Valour, $24.4 million in Valour DOT, and small funds in Uniswap, Terra, and Avalanche.

DeFi Technologies marked 91% increase

When compared to its entire asset under management (AUM) of $143.5 million in May of 2021, the whole figure marks a 91% increase. Russell Starr, CEO of DeFi Technologies, had this to say about the development:

“Our team has done a tremendous job of planting seeds for future growth by launching eight ETPs across several exchanges in Europe that enable individuals and institutions to invest in digital assets. We are very excited about the company’s growth trajectory.”

DeFi Technologies’ ETPs, venture investment, and infrastructure arm, which provides management for blockchain networks to run autonomous nodes, aim to make DeFi more accessible to investors. 

Last year, Grayscale hit $60 billion AUM, surpassed SPDR Gold Shares, arguably the world’s most liquid gold exchange-traded fund (ETF).
