Eminem and Neymar are significantly down on their NFT investments

Amid the ongoing digital assets bear market, Neymar Jr., a soccer star, and Eminem, a well-known rapper, have both been adversely impacted by the falling interest in NFT industry and the decline in trading volumes with regard to their purchases of digital art.

Brazilian athlete purchased two digital collectibles—Bored Ape 6633 for 159.99 ETH and Bored Ape 5269 for 189.69 ETH—at the beginning of 2022 for almost $1.05 million. However, the NFT industry has not performed well during the current crypto winter, and Neymar has suffered significant losses on his investments. His $1 million investment has now come down to around $340,000. 

On the other hand, Eminem, commonly known as Marshall Bruce Mathers III, the only rapper to have ever won an Oscar, too got into the BAYC craze. He bought Bored Ape 9055 in January 2022 for 123,45 ETH, or $462,00 at the time. However, as of right now, his collectible’s estimated value has decreased to around $140,000.

Eminem even collaborated with Snoop Dogg, another NFT collector, to write a song with a BAYC theme that the two legends performed live earlier this year, as TheCoinRise reported.

The well-known DJ Steve Aoki is another celebrity who would not be satisfied with his NFT investment. The American is recognized as a collector and even a creator of such art inside the cryptosphere.

He spent around $350,000 a few months ago for an NFT artwork from the Doodles series. However, the item is only currently worth $47,000, according to data by DappRadar.

When addressing such bad investments, Logan Paul, a well-known YouTuber, actor, and social media figure, should not be forgotten. He spent $623,000 earlier this year for an NFT piece from the Azuki collection, which is now worth just $10.

Paul’s failure extends beyond NFTs as he recently acknowledged losing almost $500,000 on his investments in bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies.
