Fantom launches new NFT marketplace ‘Artion’, aims to reduce creator fees

Fantom foundation has now launched a new NFT Marketplace dubbed Artion. The marketplace which is built on the Fantom network, will be aiming to stand shoulder to shoulder with the many other NFT markets presently available. Artion is also boasting of 0% commissions, with transactions coming at almost no cost.

In a bid to ride on the current wave of billions of dollars worth of NFT sales, Fantom Foundation has now announced its new NFT marketplace, Artion. Hoping to follow in the footsteps of Ethereum blockchain network, Fantom is slowly making its way up into the world of defi, NFTs, and smart contracts.

The new NFT marketplace is presently still in the beta mode though, and is expected to connect with compatible wallets.

According to the Foundation’s blog post, Artion will be fast, open-source, and not costly: 0% commissions, with close to zero transaction costs. The post also claims that Artion will support Fantom-based ERC20 tokens. Although for now, only 4 of those tokens are still supported.  While DAI, USDC, WFTM, and FUSDT are all currently supported, it’s almost certain that future releases will support even more of the tokens.

The Fantom network already has a number of collections to its name. Amongst these collections are the likes of Fantom Punks and Waifus, and the Strange Brew. The Artion project is also an all open source, so therefore, tech enthusiasts can take their time to review the code for its server, the  smart contracts, the server, the tracker for the marketplace, and the Artion-client.

In the concluding part of the blog post, the Foundation reaffirmed the aim it had in mind while launching this marketplace. They hope to be able to relieve creators of the usually high costs and all other constraints that play a part in limiting the potential of imagination.
