PledgeCrypto is a new fundraising platform launched by fundraising platform Pledge that allows NGOs to accept crypto donations in over 130 cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), and Tether (USDT), and then convert them to fiat money.

Ariana Grande, a well-known singer and outspoken campaigner for transgender rights who also founded her own charity, Protect and Defend Trans Youth Fund, has committed to match up to $1.5 million in donations. Grande is collecting funds for LGBTQ organizations that fight for transgender youth and give direct services to them.

PledgeCrypto, according to the statement, is a free, fully-integrated fiat and crypto donation platform that delivers funds to verified non-profit organizations.

Added charity partners for Pledge Crypto

According to Pledge CEO James Citron, over 300 million people hold bitcoin and plan to spend it to support organizations they care about. The Boys and Girls Club of Metro Los Angeles, Streetcode Academy, Big Brothers and Big Sisters LA, Worthy of Love, CoachArt, Safe Place for Youth, Goodie Nation, and Taraji P Henson’s Boris Lawrence Henson Foundation are among the added charity partners for Pledge Crypto, in addition to Ariana Grande’s campaign.

To counteract the impact on the environment of crypto mining and transactions, Pledge has established a method that allows each crypto activity to contribute to verified carbon offset initiatives via the United Nations Climate Neutral Now Program.

The year 2021 will be recognized as the year when crypto hit new all-time highs, but it was also the most successful year in the history of crypto charity. Crypto contributions in 2021 were $69.6 million, up from $4.2 million in 2020. During the same time span, the volume of crypto donations increased by 1,558%. For instance, Bitcoin helped the Kingdom of Tonga to fight against the devastating tsunami attack

In March, officials from Ukraine teamed up with crypto exchanges FTX and Kuna, as well as staking provider Everstake, to launch a crypto donation platform for anyone who wants to donate Bitcoin (BTC) and other cryptocurrencies to help in the fight against Russia.
