OneOf Partner With Latin Grammy Award to Launch NFT Collection

The Latin Recording Academy has entered into a three-year partnership with green Non-fungible token (NFT) platform OneOf to celebrate the Latin Grammy Awards.

Therefore, this year’s 23rd Annual Latin Grammy Awards will come with the first-ever NFT collection to appreciate Latin music. The debut of the first NFT collection will commence in October 2022. 

This is in preparation for the award show which will be held on November 17th. The 23rd Annual Latin Grammy Awards will take place at the Michelob ULTRA Arena at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas. 

Each NFT collection that drops will be symbolic of the Latin music industry. Manuel Abud, CEO of the Latin Recording Academy presents this as a new musical innovation in the Latin music industry and a means of making their fans own a ‘little’ piece of the Grammy. 

“The Latin Recording Academy is committed to exploring innovative, new ways to celebrate excellence in Latin music and to connect music to other art forms in our culture, including visual and digital arts.”

OneOf to Roll Out NFT Collections

This comes after OneOf similarly partnered with the Grammy Awards in a three-year NFT release plan.

The first release happened in April during the 64th Annual Grammy Awards of which leading cryptocurrency exchange Binance was a partner. Furthermore, OneOf will also be hosting the 65th and 66th Annual Grammy Awards as it did for the 64th Annual Grammy Awards last fall. 

Adam Fell, OneOf Co-Founder and President of Quincy Jones Productions commented on the partnership deal with Latin Grammy Awards. He stated

“OneOf is honored to be partnering with The Latin Recording Academy to host the Latin GRAMMYs’ first-ever NFTs. The Annual Latin Grammy Awards are the most important night of the year for Latin music, and this partnership will bring fans closer to the ceremony than ever before.”

MTV also made its debut into the metaverse this year during its MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) as it added a new ‘Best Metaverse Performance’ award category. Nominees for this award were Justin Bieber, Twenty-One Pilots, Blackpink, BTS, Charli XCX, and Rift Tour which featured Ariana Grande.

It was during these MTV VMAs that America’s two finest rappers Snoop Dogg and Eminem performed as Bored Apes from the Bored Ape Yacht Club’s (BAYC) NFT collection.
