SBF Cannot ‘Out-Fox’ DoJ Prosecutors: Anthony Scaramucci

SkyBridge Capital founder Anthony Scaramucci has stated that government prosecutors will prove to be a formidable challenge for FTX co-founder Sam Bankman-Fried, also known as SBF, and he will not be able to ‘out-fox’ them.

SBF Taking a Stand is a ‘Very Bad Move”

As per the report, Scaramucci has expressed the opinion that Sam Bankman-Fried taking the stand in his criminal trial is a “very bad move,” as the FTX co-founder is likely to be thoroughly scrutinized and challenged by prosecutors, potentially facing a tough legal battle. 

“Skinned Alive”

On October 25, during an interview on CNBC’s Last Call, Scaramucci shared his views on the matter. He said: “He’s gonna get skinned alive; there’s no way to escape. He thinks he’s going to outfox the prosecutors, but they’re very, very well experienced with this stuff.” In addition, he observed a substantial reevaluation of Bankman-Fried’s public image. 

Approximately a year ago, SBF was commonly perceived as a “congenial nerd” who intended to donate his wealth generously. However, the testimonies of former FTX executives have unveiled a hidden malevolent aspect to his character.

He asserts: “He thought he was going to take that money, and he was so smart that he would out-trade the market and put the money back and end up as a half-a-trillionaire, but it never works like that.”

SBF and Scaramucci’s History

In September 2022, FTX Ventures purchased a 30% ownership interest in the New York-based global investment firm, SkyBridge Capital. Notably, Scaramucci is currently endeavoring to repurchase this stake from the now insolvent company. Scaramucci has criticized SBF before, notably for his perceived betrayal and his sentiments regarding FTX’s collapse.

Caroline Ellison’s Testimony

It is noteworthy to mention that in the trials of SBF, Caroline Ellison, a former Alameda executive who had previously pleaded guilty and was now testifying, has consistently offered compelling information about SBF‘s financial activities. A central element of Ellison’s testimony has been Bankman-Fried’s unwavering determination to obtain additional funds for his ambitious trading strategies and acquisitions.
