WazirX launches a new ‘learn and earn’ campaign in partnership with The Sandbox

After a troublesome month of August, India’s leading crypto exchange WazirX is back in form with the launch of a new “learn and earn” campaign.

According to a recent announcement, the exchange has partnered with Animoca Brands’ leading Ethereum-based metaverse game platform The Sandbox to launch the program that started on September 19.

WazirX revealed that the top five winners from the campaign will receive free passes for The Sandbox’s recently-launched Alpha Season 3.

According to the announcement, participants will be required to trade at least 10 SAND and answer 10 questions in a quiz about The Sandbox Alpha.  Winners will receive Alpha passes and will also be entered into a drawing for a chance to win 500 SAND tokens.

According to the announcement, Alpha Season 3 includes more than 90 single-player and multiplayer experiences.

It is important to note that the leading Indian exchange held its peer-to-peer competition in June as part of its “learn and earn” campaign. The competition attracted over 8,000 participants, and winners were awarded WazirX’s token, WRX, which has a value of 200 Indian rupees (US$2.5).

Enforcement Directorate, WazirX, and Binance

WazirX has been in the news as of late due to a dispute regarding ownership with Binance as well as inquiries by India’s financial crime-fighting agency Enforcement Directorate (ED). Soon after ED froze bank accounts of the exchange, the founder Nischal Shetty claimed that WazirX’s domain name is owned by Binance, which also manages root access to its AWS servers and holds all of its digital assets and profits, as TheCoinRise reported. However, Binance founder Changpeng Zhao declined these claims and said that his exchange “only” provides a wallet service and an off-chain transaction solution to the Indian exchange.

WazirX has recently announced that all of its bank accounts have been unfrozen by the regulatory agency for its cooperation in the investigation.
