According to reports, global Google searches for “buy Bitcoin” have seen a significant surge over 800% in the past week amidst a major cryptocurrency rally.

Remarkable Spike of 826% in the UK

Research conducted by Cryptogambling.tv revealed that the search term “buy Bitcoin” experienced a remarkable 826% spike in the United Kingdom within a span of seven days.

A representative from Cryptogambling.tv stated: “The remarkable surge in ‘buy Bitcoin’ searches in the UK, combined with the cryptocurrency’s resurgence, underscores the growing interest and potential impact of traditional financial institutions’ involvement in the world of digital assets.”

Google Trends data indicates that searches in the United States for “should I buy Bitcoin now?” have risen by over 250%, and more specialized inquiries, such as “can I buy Bitcoin on Fidelity?” have surged by an astounding 3,100% in the past week. Furthermore, queries such as “BlackRock Bitcoin ETF” witnessed a 250% increase, showcasing a heightened interest in information regarding BlackRock’s spot BTC ETF.

Bitcoin Spot ETF Approval

The enthusiasm is closely tied to the potential approval of a spot BTC ETF, which many experts think will trigger a new surge in institutional investment. It is noteworthy to mention that the iShares BTC Trust, a proposed exchange-traded fund (ETF) for BTC managed by BlackRock, has recently surfaced on the list of the Depository Trust and Clearing Corporation (DTCC) with the symbol IBTC. 

Breaking the $35K Mark

On October 24th, BTC briefly crossed the $35,000 mark, a milestone it hadn’t reached since May 2022.

BlackRock’s July submission of a BTC ETF application has injected a sense of hope into the crypto world. This respected and influential financial institution has demonstrated a significant interest in the cryptocurrency sphere, having submitted a BTC ETF application in partnership with the American cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase back in July.
