Cristiano Ronaldo Now in Partnership With Binance to Promote Web3 Initiatives

Binance trading platform has landed Portuguese playmaker, Cristiano Ronaldo as his major partner as both seek to promote engagement with Web3.0 initiatives. As announced by Binance, the partnership with the 5-time Balon D’or winner is a multi-year one and will see both create series of NFT collections which will be sold exclusively on the Binance NFT marketplace.

“Cristiano Ronaldo is one of the world’s best footballers, and has transcended sport to become an icon in multiple industries. He has amassed one of the world’s most dedicated fan bases through his authenticity, talent, and charity work,” said Binance Founder and CEO “CZ” (Changpeng Zhao). “We are thrilled to provide his fans with exclusive engagement opportunities to connect with Ronaldo and own a piece of iconic sports history.”

Ronaldo has acquired a very massive fan base of more than half a billion people on social media, as football fans around the world look to tag along with his success and personality. Ronaldo will now explore a series of campaigns to bring the fans into Web3.0, a task he expresses delight to do.

“My relationship with the fans is very important to me, so the idea of bringing unprecedented experiences and access through this NFT platform is something that I wanted to be a part of,” said Ronaldo. “I know the fans are going to enjoy the collection as much as I do.”

The Sports World and Crypto Partnerships

The digital currency ecosystem might be a relatively new one, however, there have been a lot of financial commitments as it relates to driving engagement with sports entities. The Binance and Ronaldo partnership is just one of the many collaborations between blockchain startups and the footballing world. 

This year alone, the Federation Internationale de Football Association (FIFA), the world’s largest football governing body tapped Crypto.com as its official trading platform for the forthcoming World Cup in Qatar while Algorand was signed up as the official blockchain partner.

Messi also signed a $20 million deal with Socios.com as a brand ambassador back in March, it is evident that the bridge between these two worlds is being sufficiently bridged to the benefit of all.
